Blizzard Entertainment, the developers of the MMORPG World of Warcraft and World of Warcraft Classic, have been on the forums to respond to a long-running question from the players. WoW TBC Game Director Aggrend shared that there will be a method of transferring Season of Mastery characters to the Lich King Classic servers.

«Since the the beginning of Season of Mastery the topic of where seasonal characters would finish up after the season comes to an end has been one of the most talked about topics for the community at large but for the team internal as well. We’ve spent plenty of time discussing the topic with our fellow players in conversation with SoM players and reading the comments in these forums and on social media. It’s evident that there is a huge desire to be able to carry on these adventures for your favorite characters throughout the season with Wrath of the Lich King Classic. We’re very excited to inform people know there is an opportunity for Season of Mastery characters to switch into either Classic Era either Wrath of the Lich King Classic for free when the current season begins to close.»

More details will be revealed in the near future. It’s quite a long way off and is expected to happen after the release of Naxxramas in Season of Mastery. Naxxramas raiders will have plenty of time to relax prior to the event kicking off.

The long-awaited Wrath of the Lich King Classic will be released later this year. It’ll include a new level cap and Northrend, the world of Northrend, Death Knights and plenty more. When it launches in 2022 the finely-tuned re-release of the smash-hit 2008 expansion is free additional cost for all players with an active World of Warcraft subscription.

The players of two noble Alliance and the mighty Horde will be able to access the game’s very first Hero Class. Utilize the power of darkness to help combat the evil that threatens Azeroth as the Death Knight, starting at the level 55. All players are capable of creating their first Death Knight characters without any conditions or prerequisites. Notice: Death Knights are not able to be upgraded to levels.
