So apparently people should play a singleplayer game and never speak to anybody because everything is on the wiki and there is no justification for making talks. Of course public chat is dead relative to ten decades ago and folks talk more about politics than about Runescape, because politics is based on view and not on the wiki. I get it. The wiki did not exist for a lot of players. When I originally started (then quit, then proceeded to OSRS decades later) we didn’t have a wiki. It is really only a case of»I learned Runescape the hard way, you can too» imo.

Anyway I really don’t think I’ve played Runescape together with the wiki closed in ages. While afking some shit if I am not pvming I am definitely reading pages. It stinks while skilling but that I do not lose sleep on it that I would rather read the wiki than talk to people beyond my clan.

There’s two problems really. New players making fundamental query’s about Runescape, then getting downvoted with no answer. The remedy is that the Weekly Megathread which I believe solves the dilemma of collecting everyone with Fundamental Questions into a single place (you know those replies already). However, I do not believe in the Subreddit users here, I believe just a couple of them are going to redirect those new users into the Megathreadothers will just answer their questions, while others will still downvote them (that will be the difficulty this informative article focused on, as fas as I am aware).

Redirecting OSRS players to the subreddit. However, users create a good job by diverting those people there, and there’s the Subreddit link on the banner that is right ads, under Partner Subreddits, there. But they downvote them. The Downvotes here, and the pestering users are like the ISR, there. You cannot comment anything constructive because they biting your foot.

In the OSRS and pathofexile subreddit that I frequent not every single small question gets asked in the megathread, some people today continue to create their own threads asking them, and over the years I have barely ever seen anybody even mention, they just reply it as usual. No need for every query to be diverted to it, although not everyone who has a question would like to create their own thread. Perhaps it’s the problem that is downvote, perhaps they think it does not justify you, not sure where most of them stand but I’ve read about several reasons like those. My train of thought is that if a new player sees a megathread they feel welcome because there’s a place made to do so, to inquire stuff. I see it as the difference between someone inviting you versus welcoming you with open arms.
